Torchlight is _______(randomly generated word here) that tries to ________ extend it's total gameplay time by __________ .
My experience with it was lots of grinding, spamming the same one useful
special ability over and over. Because of it's randomization of
equipment, and linear RPG nature the game gets less fun and more tedious
the higher level you get. Your super awesome equipment? Yeah, it's
pretty much worthless when even against a common spider when your at a
high level. The enemies stats all scale up, but yours rely on whatever
crap you can find, so each encounter takes longer and longer just to
kill simple enemies.
If you expect story from this RPG you get what, like 10 paragraphs of
dialogue throughout the main plot line. It starts of with a little intro
whenever your about to enter a new series of levels that use a diffent
palette.
It's not challenging from either an action, adventure or strategy perspective, it's just large amount of grinding away.
TL;DR : Avoid. Grindfest and Numbers game.
