A bit late, but this overall an excellent shooter. What's extremely memorable is the quality of the sound effects is amazing, still being far better than new FPS games. The destruction system is also refreshing and really helps change the game as it progresses, allowing for a wider variety of tactics that are extremely satisfying to pull off.
The singleplayer is forgetable, but the real soul of this game is in the multiplayer, playing conquest or rush. Of course by now BF3 is doing the same things bigger, and better than this, but this game does keep it's own unique feeling with characters speaking lines that have noticably more personality.
Like all battlefield games, good teamwork will allow you to win against individual good players. Having a mic and coordinating will allow you to be extremely effective in a vehicle.
As an FPS it's a must play, even if just to witness the aspects that this game got very right!
TL;DR : Must play! Eargasm!
